AUSSIEPADALA - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is AussiePadala?
AussiePadala is DBP’s online remittance service from Australia to the Philippines. It will allow anyone maintaining an account with any bank in Australia (example Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, NAB, Westpac, etc) to remit funds to beneficiaries maintaining accounts with any bank in the Philippines (example BDO, BPI, Metrobank, DBP, etc).

2. How does AussiePadala work?
Visit the DBP website, https://www.devbnkphl.com, and click on the AussiePadala icon. You can also go directly to the AussiePadala site (https://aorp.devbnkphl.com ). Register yourself and supply your email address. Once registered, fill in the beneficiary details and type in the desired amount. When you click the “Transfer” button, a BSB and Account Number will be shown. Take note of these numbers (which will also be emailed to your registered email address). Log-off from the AussiePadala portal and Log-on to your Australian bank’s online banking facility. Choose Pay Anyone (or domestic Interbank) and encode the BSB and Account Number earlier provided. If prompted for Remitter and Beneficiary name, just supply your name and your beneficiary’s name. After you complete the Pay Anyone transfer, you can sit back, relax, and just wait for our confirmation that your beneficiary’s account has been credited. Payment matching is performed by Westpac in Australia.

3. How fast is the AussiePadala remittance service?
Your beneficiary will normally get the funds on the next banking day. If you complete the Pay Anyone transfer before 6pm (AEST) Monday to Friday, your Beneficiary’s Philippine bank account will normally be credited on the next banking day. Any transfers made after 6pm (AEST) of a banking day will be processed on the next banking day. Transfers made on a weekend or NSW public holiday will be processed on the next banking day. Please take note, however, that the transfer may be delayed or may fail if you supplied invalid beneficiary account details, or if the beneficiary account is closed or unavailable for whatever reasons.

4. How much fees do I pay?
The service fee for using the DBP AussiePadala remittance portal is only A$8.00. Please note that your beneficiary's bank might impose some fees, so please consider this when you calculate the amount you want to send. Good news! AussiePadala fees are waived until February 2017!

5. What exchange rate will apply for my transaction?
If you complete the fund transfer to the given BSB Account Number before 6pm AEST, DBP will use the same FX rate appearing in the calculator at the time of your transaction. If you make the fund transfer after 6pm AEST, we will use the prevailing rate on the day your fund transfer is received by DBP. This is normally the FX rate of the folling banking day. The prevailing rate is displayed on the DBP webpage (https://www.devbnkphl.com/services.php?type=rates).

6. What is a BSB number?
Every branch of each bank in Australia has its own BSB (Bank, State, Branch) number that identifies it from other branches. To make a payment, it is essential that a BSB is provided so that the correct bank and branch are credited with the payment. Ensure that the BSB is six digits in length. The BSB of DBP AussiePadala is 037876 and is maintained by Westpac Banking Corporation.

7. What is the purpose of the Account number provided at the end of each session?
Account numbers work simultaneously with the BSB to ensure that the correct account is credited. The AussiePadala account number is six digits in length and is supplied at the end of each transaction session along with the BSB number. Both the BSB and Account Number are required when you do a domestic interbank transfer or Pay Anyone transfer.

8. Can I use AussiePadala if I am in another country?
The AussiePadala remittance portal is designed to be used only by persons holding bank accounts in Australia to remit funds to beneficiaries maintaining bank accounts in the Philippines.

9. Is there a limit to how much can I send?

10. Do I need to send the funds on the same day I receive the BSB Account Number, or can I do it later?
You are given 30 days to transfer funds to the BSB Account Number provided at the end of the session. The benefit of sending on the same day is to lock in the rate prevailing on that day, otherwise the FX rate to be used will be the one prevailing on the day DBP receives your fund transfer.

11. Where can I ask further questions, or follow up my transaction?
